The EAM Integration Platform (EIP) is the central cornerstone of EAM’s IT Strategy 2025. As an enterprise-wide integration platform focused on B2B, the EIP’s role is to establish connections with external companies, SaaS solutions, and internal IT systems hosted on Azure.

Customer Benefits

Standardized interfaces for all IT systems
Greater transparency through continuous monitoring
Standardization reduces operational complexity and costs
Azure-First Approach for Modern and Scalable Solutions
Faster Onboarding of New Use Cases with a Framework
High reusability thanks to the use of standardized services

Project Overview

Initial Situation

The communication interfaces between EAM’s internal IT systems and external solutions have evolved over time in a decentralized and ad hoc manner. This structure has enabled a high degree of flexibility and accommodated a wide range of requirements. At the same time, this diversity has also opened up opportunities for greater standardization and better coordination, particularly with regard to transparency and end-to-end monitoring.

Vision

EAM’s IT managers want to consolidate their external interfaces into a single platform in order to standardize data exchange—in line with the guiding principle “one integration to the customer.” In addition, they aim to achieve the highest possible level of automation.

Solution

Together with representatives from Arvato Systems, EAM’s technical experts designed an integration platform based on PaaS services in Microsoft Azure. They jointly developed an operating model that provides a best-practice framework for onboarding new use cases. With Arvato Systems as its technology partner, EAM has so far been able to implement 13 use cases based on the EIP. These follow an “Azure-First” approach and, in particular, enable the integration of external SaaS systems.
