Project Overview

Initial situation

BOGE had an SAP ECC landscape that had grown over the years, with many connected subsystems and complex dependencies. At the same time, the end of support was approaching, creating a sense of urgency. In addition to technological modernization, the goal was also to make the system landscape more scalable and to lay the groundwork for future digital services. The challenge: A transformation of this magnitude could under no circumstances jeopardize day-to-day operations.

Vision

The goal was clearly defined: a high-performance, stable, and future-proof IT landscape. BOGE deliberately opted for a brownfield approach to preserve existing processes as much as possible and to reduce the project's complexity. At the same time, the new system foundation was intended to lay the groundwork for further digitalization initiatives—ranging from data-driven services to AI applications. IT was viewed not merely as a support function, but as a key enabler of the company’s success.

Solution

Together with Arvato Systems, BOGE implemented a comprehensive transformation: the migration to SAP S/4HANA, the modernization of the data platform using SAP Datasphere and Analytics Cloud, and the transition to a virtual private cloud. In addition, other systems such as CRM (Sales Cloud), GTS, and integrations via the Integration Suite were modernized. Despite the increasing complexity of the project,
