Diversity as the basis for corporate success

For us, employee diversity is a prerequisite for innovation and an essential factor in the company's sustainable prosperity. We value what we have in common, but we are working to value our differences equally: to recognize, implement and further develop the potential and abilities of all our employees - regardless of their gender, age, skin colour, origin, disability or sexual orientation. This also means clearly: We reject all forms of discrimination and racism. With a more diverse workforce, we are more competitive and better able to grow as a company.

Launch of the women's network "her SystemS" at Arvato Systems

"her SystemS: woman create digital together" - this was the motto of the kick-off event of Arvato Systems' new women's network "her SystemS" in Gütersloh in the first week of September. The network is aimed at all employees of the Arvato Systems Group who are interested in networking and exchanging information with other colleagues from different departments and locations.

At the kick-off event at Arvato Systems' headquarters, more than 60 interested visitors were treated to a varied program. At the beginning, the goals and participation possibilities of "her SystemS" were explained, after which some members of the network introduced themselves. Matthias Moeller, CEO of Arvato Systems, then explained the opportunities he sees for the women's network at Arvato Systems. This was followed by presentations on "AI & Diversity" by Martin Weitzel and Ricardo Ramos Gameiro (Arvato Systems), and on "Digital Transformation: Working Conditions and Diversity" by Birgit Wintermann (Bertelsmann Stiftung). The event was followed by a variety of networking opportunities with snacks and drinks. Many ideas for future activities and events as well as perspective topics of the women's network were collected on an idea pillar.

In the future, further meetings and events are to be organized from within the network at regular intervals. If possible, these should not only be accessible to members of the network, but also to all Arvato Systems employees. Lectures and workshops on various topics as well as joint lunch meetings and working groups on various focal topics are planned. The focus will be on informal networking, exchange and mutual support between interested employees.

Right from the start, employees of Arvato Systems have been active in the Bertelsmann employee network "be.queer". "be.queer" is the first cross-divisional network for LGBTIQ employees and supporters at Bertelsmann and is committed to an open and creative working environment for all employees, regardless of their sexual identity or orientation.

Christopher Street Day | Pride Parade

Arvato Systems participated together with UFA in the parade of the Christopher Street Day (CSD) on July 7th in Cologne with its own car. Under the motto "Diversity is our daily business!", the two Bertelsmann companies joined forces to promote diversity and equal opportunities by participating in the CSD.

Show your colours! Since 2005, the International Day against Homo-, Bi-, Inter- and Transphobia has taken place annually on 17 May to draw attention to the discrimination of people who deviate from heteronormativity in their sexual orientation or gender identity. Arvato Systems has taken part in IDAHOBIT 2019 with numerous rainbow flags to send a clear signal against homo-, bi-, inter- and transphobia.
