C5 Test Certificates From Arvato Systems

Arvato Systems holds C5 certifications within Avvia, its service portfolio for high-performance, enterprise-wide managed cloud IT. These certifications cover the cloud services Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS) for both Type 1 (suitability assessment) and Type 2 (effectiveness assessment over an audit period). In addition, Type 2 certification has also been issued for the Google Cloud service as well as the in-house developed Arvato Systems Virtual Private Cloud.

The audit and issuance of all certifications were conducted by the accredited auditors of the firm HLB Stückmann from Bielefeld.

The C5 Catalog (Cloud Computing Compliance Criteria Catalog) is published by the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI). It establishes binding requirements for information security, transparency, and compliance for cloud services offered or used in Germany. The C5 Catalog contains requirements for information security management in accordance with ISO 27001, data protection, encryption, access protection, traceability of data processing, transparency regarding storage locations and sub-service providers, as well as emergency management and operational stability.

For Arvato Systems customers, C5 certification provides objective and verifiable proof of the high level of security and transparency offered by the cloud services. The controls, which are verified by an independent auditor, build confidence in compliance with recognized security standards and reduce the risk of regulatory or data protection-related non-compliance. By adhering to the BSI standard, Arvato Systems customers gain a reliable basis for comparing cloud providers in terms of security and compliance and making informed decisions about the use of individual services.
