Arvato Systems sees itself as part of our society. Through the dedication and expertise of our employees - but also financially - we get involved, for example, where help and support is needed outside the company.

DKMS Campaign Week 2019

Almost 200 colleagues participated in a DKMS (Deutsche Knochenmarkspende / German bone marrow donor) campaign week at various Arvato Systems locations. By registering as a potential stem cell donor, they can now possibly save a life somewhere in the world.


Together with the DKMS and in exchange with the company health management, more than 20 colleagues from Arvato Systems had organized the action week across locations in Cologne, Leipzig, Bielefeld and Gütersloh. "Many thanks to Arvato Systems for the successful campaign at four locations," says DKMS employee Svenja Ebbing.

"With the help of dedicated teams of helpers, a total of 198 new potential stem cell donors were accepted, which means 198 new chances of life for all affected blood cancer patients worldwide. A really great result."

MINT-Day: Digitization for Young and Old - L.I.S.A. & Virtual Reality

Making young people interested in MINT subjects with a lot of fun - that is the goal of the MINT hands-on day in Gütersloh. The event, which focuses on mathematics, information technology, nature science and technology, has become a permanent fixture in the East Westphalia-Lippe region. The number of visitors has increased from an initial 500 to more than 4,000. The event's target group is primarily children and young people aged 6-18, but anyone else interested can also take part.

Arvato Systems and the Pepper robot L.I.S.A., who was the secret star and delighted visitors young and old alike, have already taken part twice. L.I.S.A. encouraged children to dance, didn't let the butter be taken from their bread during tic-tac-toe and gave tips on clothes - the kids were blown away. Another Arvato Systems campaign: virtual reality for logistics processes. With VR glasses on their noses, visitors could move around a virtual warehouse, transport packages from A to B, scan them and place them on conveyor belts.  The huge crowd shows: The MINT Join-In Day is a great event to bring digitalisation in the here and now closer to the younger audience.

erlebe IT / experience IT

Children should learn to use the internet, mobile technologies and media in a meaningful way - and learn this best interactively. For many years, Arvato Systems has been supporting "erlebe IT" (experience IT), BITKOM's school initiative that promotes digital literacy in schools throughout Germany.

For "erlebe IT", digital competence means, on the one hand, competent handling of digital media and, on the other hand, conveying a basic understanding of IT and awakening enthusiasm for the IT world. The aim is to enable children and young people to deal with digital media in an empowered, critical, confident and creative way. For us, this is a basic prerequisite for digital sovereignty and participation in the living and working world of today and tomorrow. 

With corresponding offers, "erlebe IT" also wants to make a contribution to the promotion of young talent in the IT sector. In order to achieve these goals, workshops for pupils as well as further training for teachers will be organized and teaching materials will be made available.
