The Move to the Cloud - All Services from a Single Source

For many years now, the trend has been to move applications to the cloud and use them holistically as Software as a Service, or SaaS for short. Companies buy a scalable and highly available service as a web-based solution. The entire management, including updates and security management, can be taken over by their provider. The data and the application itself are made available in a cloud environment.

Already for the implementation of the EU FMD (Falsified Medicines Directive) requirements in 2016, STADA successfully used the "Arvato CSDB" for the serialization of prescription drugs. In order to be able to work even more efficiently, the application has now moved to the virtual private cloud of Arvato Systems.

Background situation

STADA and Arvato Systems have already been working closely together since 2016 to implement the EU FMD requirements successfully. With the Arvato Corporate Serialization Database (CSDB), secure drug identification could be ensured. As a pharmaceutical group, STADA AG must meet the highest IT security requirements, work efficiently and be able to focus on its core business, the production of pharmaceuticals. This is where the migration of a Software as a Service - SaaS for short - comes into play.

"Cloud" is an important, unavoidable topic for all companies worldwide. To remain competitive, independent, and future-oriented, the use of a cloud is indispensable. STADA AG is also following this trend and relies on the experience and promise of the highest IT security from Arvato Systems.
