Initial Situation

Tradespeople order the items they need on construction sites from MAINCOR’s online store. The challenge lies in delivering the right items at the right time, in the right quantity, to the right location, and in the right quality. Adherence to the 5Rs is particularly important for MAINCOR, as mistakes would prevent tradespeople from doing their jobs. For this reason, logistics must function flawlessly and cost-effectively.

Vision

Upon delivery to the construction site, zero-error order picking must be guaranteed. Consistently high order-picking performance is also essential and should be supported by technology. At the same time, the technology must be economically viable for smaller companies.

Solution

platbricks communicates with the Infor AS ERP system via an interface.

To configure the platbricks app and the platbricks control center, a detailed process consultation was conducted, and the selection of mobile devices that best suited the customer’s needs was made jointly. Short training sessions (under 10 minutes) and the international service desk ensure a very high standard of quality in the order-picking processes. In addition, order-picking performance has also increased significantly.

Microsoft Azure ensures platbricks' flexibility, scalability, and real-time capabilities. For Maincor, platbricks uses Microsoft Azure App Services and Azure Database Services.

The duration of the design and execution phase for the implementation of platbricks at the Schweinfurt location was one month.

MAINCOR Rohrsysteme GmbH & Co KG, located in Schweinfurt, Germany, consists of the two business divisions Pipe Systems Building Solutions (heating and sanitation) and Piping Systems Industry (industrial applications). MAINCOR employs a total of approximately 270 members of staff at its Knetzgau location, where it manufactures plastic pipes for a wide range of different applications. The product range spans from pipes for the automotive, industrial, and white-goods sectors to heating and sanitation equipment, to plastic surface finishing in the nanostructure range (fluorination).
