Bertelsmann Premises, Unter den Linden 1, 10117 Berlin
The Serialization Journey – Next Stages After Ignition
Worldwide different initiatives regarding the safety of patients from counterfeit drugs within the legal supply chain are currently planned or already implemented. By releasing the delegated act (EU) 2016/161it is confirmed: Since February 9, 2019 drugs, which are subject to prescription, are only allowed to be distributed within Europe, if every single packaging is provided with an individual serial number and the intactness is visible.
In Russia on January 1, 2019, the law on serializing medication with crypto coding entered into force. This stipulates that serialization will be mandatory by law starting on 1 January 2020. The legislation stipulates that legal persons who carry out the manufacturing, import, storage and distribution, sales, use, or disposal of medication in Russia must provide information about these processes in the system designed for this purpose in order to stay active in the market.
For many international companies, the Serialization Journey is going into the next round or is just starting. Use the 7th Serialization Symposium as a global exchange platform and receive important information about the next stages, measures and projects!
Representatives from international pharmaceutical manufacturers, licensed pharmaceutical wholesalers, national verification systems, implementing companies, and representatives from other industries in which product traceability is becoming increasingly more important will meet again for a two-day event at the Bertelsmann Premises in Berlin.
The presentations and workshops will focus on the global requirements of the serialization of pharmaceutical packaging, the topic Russia 2020 and the exchange of previous project experiences in the field of serialization.
