Optimal Sales Support Thanks to Native Production Information App

CLAAS provides its global sales partners with product information such as brochures, videos, product descriptions, new products, and features via the extranet. The company was looking for an additional app to not only improve usability but also ensure that product information is also available offline by allowing sales staff to download the required documents to their mobile devices before going to an appointment.

Project Overview

Background Situation

The company was looking for a mobile app that provides brochures, PowerPoint presentations, PDF documents, videos, animations and 3D product tours, is well-structured down to the product series level, and displays the most important images per product group in an overview. Another challenge was the integration of 3D product tours, which are displayed in a separate app.


The mobile application is fully integrated into the CoreMedia Content Management System in use at CLAAS. An automatic check is performed on a nightly basis to check whether new documents have been entered into the CMS, which are then imported into the app. In this manner, the sales department is always equipped with up-to-date (product) information that is compliant with corporate design. One challenge was the definition of a structure. After all, there were a large number of tractors, combine harvesters, forage harvesters, telescopic loaders, square balers, round balers, harvesting systems, and accessories that had to be presented in a structured manner. 


PIA is a native app that optimally maps the requirements that CLAAS established for usability, functionality, and navigation. PIA is connected to all required backend systems and supports all relevant sales processes. Arvato Systems connected both apps via an interface. It enables users to install the 3D app on their device through PIA and switch directly to the 3D app from PIA. The national subsidiaries have their own PIA versions, meaning that flexibility is also ensured.

Sales Support
With the PIA app, sales staff always has all data on their mobile device. It enables them to prepare themselves optimally for appointments with customers.
Product Information
All product data is regularly transferred to the app and is available to the user in offline mode, as well.
License Fees
CLAAS does not charge license fees for the app, enabling the company to roll out the app to all sales locations.
