Managed Service Provider for Azure - Leader Status

Earlier this year the analyst firm ISG, leading market research and consulting firm in the information technology sector, published the study "ISG Provider Lens™ Microsoft Ecosystems Germany 2019" in which Arvato Systems was designated multiple times as 'Leader'. ISG awarded Arvato Systems 'Leader' status for its Microsoft competencies in the following four market segments: Managed Services on Azure, SAP on Azure, SharePoint Integration and Office 365 Integration. As defined by ISG a leader does not only ensure innovative strength and stability but also "has a highly attractive product and service offering and a very strong market and competitive position and they fulfill all requirements for successful market cultivation". Thus, Arvato Systems occupies a top position in the German market.

In this edition of our Insights Digital Innovation Newsletter, we would like to give you more details into the Managed Service Provider for Azure quadrant.

Managed Service Provider (MSG) for Azure

As the digital transformation is radically changing markets and a new generation of customers is placing new demands on you. Thus, it is essential to ensure that your infrastructure is always up to date and that your applications are constantly available for customers as well as the internal workforce. Based on the ever-changing demands, “Managed Service Providers must build and dismantle competencies for Azure Cloud continuously and develop a better understanding for their customers and their business processes at the same time.” Therefore, the MSPs and their employees must, e.g., build corresponding know-how in the context of the Azure service offerings. That can be done with the help of DevOps skills to make sure to provide a surplus in values for customers. Also, “the core business of the infrastructure management services at the platform level and eventually, at the application level, which is becoming more and more intelligent, are destined to experience further disruptive changes.” It is also required that an MSP service provider understands the situation of each individual customer. By doing so, unique challenges can be defined and solved by establishing links with new services like Event Processing or Machine Learning solutions.

What is an MSP?

ISG defines Cloud Managed Service Providers as following:

  • A service provider who supports his customers in conversion to cloud technologies and the operation of cloud solutions. The tasks and services range from consultancy through migration up to operation and management.
  • Managed service providers for Azure are differentiated regularly through the creation of a business unit around DevOps, automation and cloud-native application design.
  • MSG function as one-stop-shops for their customers.
  • Their business model is normally designed as pay-as-you-go (PAYG).
  • The MSP services are an integral part of other service areas such as hosting, SI, resale or application design.
  • Managed service providers also distinguish themselves through optimized process sequences and customer life cycle value management approaches.
