Arvato Systems' Home Office Ready Campaign

Working IT everywhere - See how our team works from home!

Our team has demonstrated in a photo campaign that IT at the home office works and has received much positive feedback within the company and externally. Not only did the IT works well, but our group-internal performance related to reaction time and speed of processing has also even increased.

Since the coronavirus pandemic outbreak, millions of people around the globe have been working from home, including the Arvato Systems teams around the world. In many companies – including Bertelsmann – this step had to be rapidly implemented and, not least, confronted the IT departments with enormous challenges. After all, it was their task to ensure that colleagues and clients could continue doing their jobs from their homes without any problems. This task was even more difficult as many of the  IT staff was also working from home.

Arvato Systems has faced the challenge and contributed to the continuation of the businesses of its Bertelsmann-internal and external clients. With the social media campaign "#homeofficeready" on Linkedin's career network, Bertelsmann's IT subsidiary promoted its achievement. More than 200 employees from various countries – reaching from Malaysia, Romania, Latvia, and Germany to the United States – took part in the campaign under the slogan "Homeoffice? Yes, we can!" They each submitted a photo and a short message about how well they can work from home along with a thank-you to the IT colleagues who made them "home office ready".

Increased IT performance

The numerous submissions in German and English language, including the hashtag “#homeofficeready” with a link to a specially launched web page of Arvato Systems, have generated 5,000 interactions in the form of likes and comments and forwards, according to Marcus Metzner, Chief Marketing Officer at Arvato Systems. “This shows just how large the reach and acceptance of our campaign have been; it made people around the world aware of our colleagues’ performance,” said Metzner. One market research and consulting firm commented on the campaign with “A very nice campaign! The many motivated colleagues highlight the fact that your IT team is doing a great job here. Congratulations!” Also, a publisher commented on a message: “Very cool campaign. Never before has my timeline been so full of so many beautiful and positive contributions to cooperation in these challenging times.” A lot of positive feedback has also been given from within the Group. Marcus Metzner: “This also shows, among other things, that our ‘Improve’ program launched a while ago under the responsibility of my colleague Matthias Henkemeier is bearing fruit. Despite home offices and the associated expenditure, our performance related to reaction time and processing speed, for example, even increased and is mostly higher than the agreed-upon service level.”
